[4] “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. [5] They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. [6] We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” – 1 John 4:4-6 (NKJV)
We live in a world that lies in wickedness. In fact, the number and variety of ways people use to plan evil continue to rise every single day. To date, it’s much harder to live as a committed child of God in this generation than an unbeliever. Why? Because the unbeliever sees nothing wrong with sin and doesn’t get persecuted. But the believer is usually labelled as odd amongst many who are in the constant act of sinning.
Beloved, from 1 John 4:4, you are of God. Who has labelled you as a “holier-than-thou” person doesn’t matter. The advantage you have is greater than those unbelievers sidelining you. Declare to yourself, “I am of God.” The God in you is greater than anybody and anything in the world, including the devil.
Don’t feel bothered when those of the world speak evil of you. Don’t feel bad for standing for Christ in the face of multiple tribulations. God is greater than anybody in this world. He knows you and calls you His child. Fret not, for He is with you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me. Help me feel more secure in You when people are sidelining me for standing for Your truth in my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
