[23] “And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.” – Ezekiel 44:23 (KJV)
The world is fast advancing in many things, especially technology, and artificial intelligence has skyrocketed these advancements. So now, there are many ways people use to judge situations. Instead of looking at the Bible to distinguish between the holy and the profane, many are turning to online platforms like Google, artificial chatbots and social media. That is unfortunate, particularly if believers use these things to judge.
In Ezekiel 44:23, God says His priests will be the ones to teach His people the difference between the holy and the profane, not Google, AI or social media. When He was saying these things, He knew that a time would come in the world where people would have many options to judge cases. But the good news is that He is the ancient God, who knows the end from the beginning (see Revelation 22:13). So what He says will never lose value or deteriorate in power despite the changing phases in this world.
If you’re a priest in God’s house today, God has given you a duty to teach His people the difference between the holy and the profane. Using what? The Word of God. That means that if a child of God can distinguish between what is holy and what is profane, he needs discernment, not common sense. And you can go for that today by the empowerment of Jesus.
How unbelievers think is so different from that of believers. They can be many around just one believer, like you reading this devotional. However, never forget that you’re not of the world even though you’re in it, and how God helps you to discern between good and evil is right, even if your voice is overshadowed by unbelievers.
Don’t give up upholding the values of Christ. God is with you!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to distinguish between the holy and the profane with Your rich wisdom in Your Word. Encourage me to uphold the standards of the Word wherever I find myself. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
