[8] “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” – Galatians 6:8 (NKJV)
In every human’s life, there are two primary areas each person will sow: either in the flesh or in the Spirit. Nobody can skip it. Why? Because you’re indirectly sowing into one of these based on what you’re using your life to do. For example: if you keep stealing or watching porn, you’re sowing in your flesh and that will eventually yield corruption (a bad end) in your life. But if you’re constantly praying and attending church, you’re sowing in the Spirit because you draw near to God through these activities. And that would yield the tangible experience of eternal life.
Dear friend, life involves a lot of activities. Some of these activities can’t be hard to distinguish whether you’re sowing in the Spirit or the flesh. But it can be easy to do such when you check your motive for such activities. For instance, going to school can be hard to check whether it is a spiritual activity or not. However, suppose you’re furthering your education to build a great career that honours God and supports His kingdom, either financially or skill-wise. In that case, that is a wise spiritual investment. Many people go to school, but only a few do it with a godly mentality.
With whatever you do, check your motive behind it. Avoid sowing in the flesh, consciously or unconsciously, because heaven has passed a judgment that it’ll reap corruption. In other words, sowing in the flesh has a lasting deteriorating effect on anyone who does it. The devil has no love. He doesn’t like you. So when he suggests sinful thoughts to you, even as sweet in your mind, don’t ever think there’s a good end to engaging in it. It’ll leave you with shame and guilt when you submit to him. Be wise in how you live in this perverse generation. And let God be the reason for everything you do.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the presence of Your Spirit in my life. Purge my conscience of any filth and help me to find a reason to please You in everything I do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
