“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” — Genesis 22:18 NKJV
The scriptures say that a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children (Proverbs 13:22). Abraham is the first man who exemplified this truth way back in Genesis. He walked in obedience to God and eventually claimed a blessing for all nations (the entire citizenry of Zion – the children of God).
When God instructed Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, he was distraught, yet he obeyed because he knew that God is able to raise Isaac from the dead. Because of that hard obedience, God proclaimed that “all the nations of the earth shall be blessed” because of him. But you may ask, “how does this connect to us?”
Well, we’re children of God. Hence, we’re children of the promise because Christ, Abraham’s seed, dwells in us (Galatians 3:29). Which means we have full access to partake in the blessings of Abraham. So whatever blessing God proclaimed on Abraham has been inherited by us.
Child of God, all nations call you blessed because the Spirit of Christ is in you. Don’t belittle yourself. You are filled with goodness as a child of God. You’re of more value.
However, there’s one thing left, and that is knowledge. God has provided everything we need pertaining to eternal life and godliness. Yet, it depends on our degree of God’s knowledge in us to enjoy them (2 Peter 1:3). Fellowship with God to become spiritually illuminated so that you’ll know Him more. You’ll be surprised how many great things you can do for God’s kingdom.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Oh God, thank you that I am blessed through Christ in me. Increase my devotion unto you, and make me know the riches of your inheritance in Christ. Amen!
