“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.” — Amos 8:11 NKJV
Most people think about eliminating physical hunger in homes and not the word of God. And this is tragic because God didn’t create humans to live for food alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth (Luke 4:4).
The days are coming, and it’s even here where there shall be a famine of God’s Word in several places.
You may think prophet Amos is speaking about something impossible because of internet ministries available on apps, websites, YouTube and social media. But what if people don’t have money to access internet resources? What if some people don’t even have a network connection at their abodes? What if sound doctrine is hardly preached in churches today? These are all factors we must consider.
Every prophecy from the Lord in the Bible will get fulfilled before Jesus comes again. Some Christians are sitting in churches who have been lied to about God’s Word. What are you doing, servant of God? Will you join others to preach what’s false and do evil things in the name of God? Or will you stand for the truth?
God has said He’ll send the famine of His Word, but certainly not without a solution. You are the solution. Continue to be in fellowship with the Lord, and study His Word. For the days shall come where the attitudes of people will be so bad that it’s as if they never know God, even if they are in churches. Be determined to be different!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to stand for the truth in every season where there’s a famine of the proclamation of the Truth in Your Word. Amen!
