How To Automate Your Impact

Every organisation aims to have a positive impact on the world. Some are conscious of their vision and mission, but some aren’t. I am not a businessman but a minister of the gospel. Over a few years of being in ministry, God has taught me some things to do in order to increase and automate the impact of our ministry on people’s lives. Today, I’m glad to share three of them with you. These things I’m about to share can be helpful to your ministry or organisation, but I recommend that you’ll apply what you learn today in a way that’ll best suit you as God helps you.

1. Be visionary in your decisions

Every purpose-driven leader is concerned about making decisions that’ll benefit generations unborn. Take the lives of Jesus and Abraham for examples in the Bible.

Jesus knew that He had a limited time to be on earth. So in the early stages of ministry, He chose twelve disciples to raise from different spheres of life. While He preached to multitudes, He was more intimate with the twelve apostles. And even though Judas Iscariot betrayed Him, that action still furthered God’s purpose of making Jesus die to serve as the propitiation for our sins. Today, the Church is thriving because the disciples didn’t stop preaching the gospel after Jesus finally ascended to heaven.

For Abraham, he made a silent oath never to take any possessions from the king of Sodom after fighting to redeem his people and Lot, Abraham’s cousin, which got captured to exile after losing a battle (Genesis 14:22-23). Why? Because he didn’t want any worldly person to have a say in the nation God promised to build through his seed, Isaac.

In my case, it’s about me turning down some invitations and paying no attention to flashy but evil things in disguise in order to focus on fulfilling my divine mandate as a minister.

Watch your life closely. Maybe, it’s time to unsubscribe from getting some access to unprofitable content online that makes you waste time watching it. Maybe, it’s time to disassociate yourself from people living meaningless lives. All these decisions must be considered if you want to automate your impact, especially by creating more time to fulfil more kingdom-oriented tasks. No great kingdom exploit you’ve seen works by magic. Generational thinkers usually work hard to oversee the working of these systems.

2. Invest consistently in technology, especially the media

Another way I’ve noticed that it can automate your impact is technology, particularly the media – print, social, television and radio. Can you think of people in several countries watching past ministrations placed online when the preacher himself is asleep? I’ve watched people read many articles and sound doctrine from our website and social media platforms while every team member in our ministry is asleep. Isn’t that glorious before the face of God? Our impact is still in effect even while we are all offline.

Could it be that it’s time to increase sales in your business by investing in electronic commerce or social media presence? What about the growth of your ministry’s reach through online channels? Invest in technology, and you’ll automate your impact as you reach more people through this medium.

3. Build your team

As your organisation expands, you’ll realise that you cannot do everything as a leader. God knows this, so before He decided to make a wife suitable for Adam, He knew the man was so busily tending the garden of Eden that without help, he may struggle. This same principle applies to our lives today.

Vision attracts helpers. But sometimes, the helpers God blesses your organisation with may not have all the prerequisite qualifications you want to hire them. If you’re a good leader, you’ll focus on training them instead of turning them off.

Vision attracts helpers.

Jesus didn’t sack a seemingly corrupt tax collector called Matthew from his team. He chose him and trained him to be a minister of the gospel. When Jesus left the earth, this man kept preaching the gospel, advancing the vision of Jesus without His presence.

Dear leader, note that many people don’t know why they are alive. Many people are in universities today reading programmes that have nothing to do with their divine mandates. So I want to encourage you to build your team. Teach them to handle tasks they never learnt in educational institutions or previous workplaces. Love them, and pay them well. You’ll see that in no time, your workload will decrease because they’ll help you to advance your vision.

I hope this article has been a blessing to you. Go and shine on as a visionary leader.
