Understand this, dear child of God. If the Bible says you shall judge angels and the world (see 1 Corinthians 6:2-3), why should you allow unbelieving judges in courts to settle disputes you have with others in the church?
When you keep in remembrance how wretched you were before Christ saved you, it will be easy to live ever grateful unto the Lord of glory for giving you this eternal life you are enjoying today.
Many people preach salvation as an escape ticket away from hell. But how many times have you heard it preached as a gift from God to you? Ephesians 2:8 tells us that we, believers, are saved by grace through faith. That’s not all. It says this salvation is not of ourselves. Instead, it is the gift of God.
What comes to mind when the Bible says God is rich in mercy? Is it merely Him forgiving your sins and the sins of the whole world? Yes, that’s true. But it goes beyond that.
Inspired by the Holy Ghost, Paul tells us in Romans 12:18 that we should live peaceably with all men, as much as it depends on us. Wait a minute! The scripture doesn’t say you will have a peaceful life on a silver platter. It says that as far as any situation that may cause chaos depends on your response, resolve to peace. So, it’s your responsibility to guard the peace you have in Christ when it comes to relating with others.
The Bible says that you should not repay evil for evil for any bad thing another person does. And in fact, that Biblical command has no exceptions. In other words, it does not matter how terrible you feel or how bad you have meant to take revenge; you must let go.
Dear married one, speak the truth in love to your spouse to save your marriage. Dear employee going through tough times because your boss isn’t treating you or others well, speak the truth in love to him without being afraid. If you have the power, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. There are many people suffering without having a voice. Use your position of influence to help them.
God is light. But this God lives in each believer in Christ. And in 1 John 4:8, the Bible says God is love. That means every believer who has God, the light, in him automatically has His love. So, when such a believer expresses love for his brother (or sister) in the Lord, it is a testimony that he abides in the light of God.
John was offended to see his ministry diminish as Jesus’ own flourishes. Unfortunately, that is how many minister’s lives end up like. They can’t bear the news of seeing someone they started with grow in ministry past theirs. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on the account of Jesus’ work in other people’s lives.
Don’t destroy yourselves as brethren, especially in the same church. The devil capitalises on these things to make people shun fellowship, and once fellowship is missing, he starts leading them to do rebellious things. Learn to forgive people very quickly and move on in your faith journey.
In Galatians 1:4, the Bible says Jesus gave Himself for our sins so that He might deliver us from this present evil age according to the will of God. That means a lot. Find out more in this devotional.
To make every effort to live in peace with everyone is not just a biblical commandment; it is a way of bringing people together. Peace is, therefore, not merely the absence of conflict but an active choice you must make daily. It requires conscious effort, grace, and a willingness to forgive others without recording wrongs.
