“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Proverbs 15:22 NIV
As a child of God, it’s no doubt that God has given you a purpose-driven life. And that contains several plans to execute. But sometimes, many of us don’t think of the place of advisors in our lives.
Today, it’s common to hear people say, “God told me to do this or that, so I don’t need to listen to any man.” Well, that attitude isn’t scriptural.
It’s good to hear directly from God and follow it. But your focus can create blindness in your mind about things you must know that will make your journey of obeying God successful. Many people have failed God-given projects because of this behaviour.
Yes, God spoke to you. But God has His children around that He also speaks to (John 10:27). If He told you to do something, telling a few brethren in the Lord about it is needful to get a confirmation in your spirit because you can mistake God’s voice for your voice unless it’s so private, and you know that it’s God that has spoken.
Your plans will succeed with many advisers if those people have enough knowledge about what you want to do in order to give you proper counsel. So be selective in who you speak to concerning the matters of your life. It is well with you. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Father, I pray, bless me with enough advisors in Christ who’ll help me clear every ignorance about things I need to know to carry out every duty in my divine assignment successfully. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
