You’ll Thrive When You Walk in Obedience

[51] “Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” – John 8:51 (NKJV)

Jesus’ words are so powerful. He said they are Spirit and life (see John 6:63b). That means that if you catch the spiritual impartation behind the words you see in the Word, your life will never be the same. That is why meditating in the Word is so crucial for the believer. Why? Because it’s through meditation that you assimilate the spiritual impartation of the Word you receive from the Lord.

Today, I want to talk about what Jesus said in John 8:51. He said that anybody who keeps His Word shall never see death. That’s a powerful revelation there. I want you to consider two words in the scripture – “keeps” and “death.”

The word “keep” is from the Greek transliteration “τηρέω,” which means to attend to carefully. “Death,” on the other hand, is also from the Greek transliteration “θάνατος,” which, in this context, refers to the loss of that life which alone is worthy of the name Jesus.

What does Jesus mean in the scripture? Here’s a simplified revelation of this Word: “If you hear God and keep His Word in your heart, your life will get directed by Him, and for that sake, you’ll never walk in any path that won’t glorify His name.”

I believe this is the ultimate answer for anybody facing challenges in any area of his life! Complaining that your work, finance, relationships, education, business, or why any area of your life is in shambles doesn’t solve any problem. It is hearing God about that situation that changes everything. Will you go and pray about that situation, hear God and follow His Word, or you’ll keep complaining?

Friend, there are spiritual revelations in Christ that will turn your life around when you encounter them. Don’t be so busy chasing fantasies. You’ll thrive when you walk in divine obedience.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to hear You clearly whenever I pray. Lead and guide me in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
