“I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.” - Psalms 120:7 NKJV
Pursuing peace should be a heart desire for every Christian. However, it doesn’t always happen as we wanted, not because we caused it; but because our words of faith create war among those we live with whose lives are hostile to God. David, the one who wrote Psalm 120:7, was a man after God’s own heart. He loved it whenever there was peace in his own territory. But he says that when he speaks, they are for war.
Wait a minute. The word “they,” used in the Bible text represents the words from the man of God. Words of faith are words of war to people who don’t love Jesus. Jesus said in Luke 11:23 (NKJV) that
He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
Anybody who doesn’t like the gospel shows forth by opposing it whenever the Truth is preached.
Fellow Christian, God hasn’t called you to negotiate with unbelievers but to snatch them from the fire (Jude 23). They may not like you for speaking the Truth. But hey, continue preaching the Word. Your words are words of war to the enemy and his cohorts. Keep up with the good work of the Lord. For territories must be won for Christ by fearless Christians sent by God to proclaim the Word. Don’t be discouraged. Stand for the Truth.
You’re a blessing.
