Wealth Without Understanding Is Dangerous

[20] “People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.” – Psalms 49:20 (NIV)

Can you read today’s devotional anchor scripture again? It says that having wealth without understanding is dangerous, so much so that it’s likened to a beast that perishes. I haven’t seen a beast before. But obviously, when a beast is alive, it scares people from going near it. Right? So, if a wealthy person who lacks understanding is compared to this strange creature, it implies that any wealthy person who doesn’t know how to be a blessing to others has a terrible fate in life. This isn’t me saying it. Instead, it’s plain in the scripture. No wonder some wealthy people die poor.

Money is neither good nor bad. It is the love of money that is bad. When you have wealth and the wisdom to manage and use it, you cannot end up like a perishing beast. It’s just not possible.

Many people want to be rich, but few are willing to pay the high price of learning about finances and business. Friend, things don’t work like that. You can use manipulative ways to extort money from people and amass wealth for yourself. But there is a judgement passed by the Lord Himself against such a lifestyle. It’s in Proverbs 10:2 (NIV), which says,

[2] “Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.”

Legitimate wealth is not gotten through extortion, bribery or stealing. Invest in wisdom about wealth and the Lord, whose blessings will make you rich, and your life won’t be the same again.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for loving me. I ask for the power to get wealth from You for me to be a blessing unto generations. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
