[1] “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalms 46:1 (NKJV)
Have you ever been to a seashore before? For some, there are lighthouses mounted and carefully watched over by the navy so that people will be protected from being harmed by the water bodies. The bad news about this is that the watchers of those towers are humans. They can fall asleep at night. So they are not reliable. But God is not like that.
Psalm 46:1 says that God is our refuge and strength. Additionally, He is our ever-present help in trouble. That means a lot.
• For God to be our refuge means that He is our security against danger and difficulty. That is why, as a Christian, you must be firm in your faith that God will always protect you. He is your light in the darkness and salvation when you seem lost. Are you lost in any area of your life? Call upon His name.
• Secondly, God is our strength. So, what many people feel incapacitated to do, the child of God is fueled by the Lord Himself to do things in an excellent and diligent way that surpasses worldly standards.
• Lastly, He is our ever-present help in trouble. Troubled people are the most miserable people on this earth. They can’t help but live in anxiety. When you hit such a stage in your life, remember to call on the name of the Lord. He will be there to calm you down. Never give up on God. Never!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being my ever-present help, even in trouble. I know that You are always with me no matter where I find myself. Help me to live according to Your ways. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
