There Will be No Future for the Wicked

[37] “Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace [38]. But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.” – Psalms 37:37-38 (NIV)

Did you know that a judgment has been passed on the evil people on this Earth who have made up their minds never to repent? It is plain in Psalm 37:38 that there will be no future for the wicked. But I want us to consider something here. What is the meaning of the word “wicked” in the scripture above?

The translated word “wicked” in Psalm 37:38 refers to a person who is morally wrong or guilty of sin against God or man. So, in short, every person who’s plunged deep in sin doesn’t have any guarantee of a bright future if he continues in sin. That is why repentance and salvation is so significant. Why? Because the two don’t only guarantee you heaven but also bring you closer to God, receive His direction and start walking in His ways.

Whatever God starts with you, He will strengthen you to continue working towards it. Don’t submit to the evil shortcut suggestions given by the devil to make you use dubious means to live, especially to get wealth. Believe that the blessing of God has no sorrow attached to it (see Proverbs 10:22) and surpass the devil’s short-lived and seemingly shiny future in your mind. May the Lord guide you in His way.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your provision of love, grace and divine direction. I pray, in the name of Jesus, help me to walk in Your ways and deal with distractions as I follow You. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
