Jesus — The Captain of Our Salvation

[10] “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” – Hebrews 2:10 (NKJV)

I don’t usually watch football. But I know that in every team, there are captains among the players. On the field, there is a captain among the eleven players, too. That means the captain is the leader on the field. Perfect! God’s Word says Jesus is the captain of our salvation. Think about that for a moment.

God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to come and die for us (see John 3:16). He made Jesus learn so many things because of the sufferings He went through so that to make Him the captain of our salvation, it would be perfect without a spot. Today, this same Jesus is our high priest. And because of the sufferings He went through, He can relate to people who are stricken with all kinds of infirmities. So, your case is not new to God. Don’t be so bothered that He cannot fix it. He will, but you must come to Him.

Friend, Jesus loves you so much that you can’t imagine His deep love for you. As your salvation captain, do you think He’s unaware of Your infirmities? Do you think he hasn’t endured temptations from all fields of life while on Earth (see Hebrews 4:15)? Nothing surprises Him. Why are you allowing the devil to condemn you so much? Have you forgotten that Jesus shed His blood for you? Come to Him today. He will guide You and strengthen you to overcome your predicaments.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your love and affection. I pray that Your strength will carry me on every day of my life. Lead and guide me in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
