[16] “Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; [17] for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.” – Psalms 49:16-17 (NIV)
Have you ever thought of the fact that no matter how much wealth you build, you’ll die and leave it to others? Maybe it hasn’t entered your mind so well, and you’ve probably overlooked it. But this is true. That is why I don’t believe in amassing wealth for oneself just for the sake of it, but to build wealth and give massively towards the kingdom of God.
In Psalm 49:16, the Psalmist cautions that you should not be overawed when others grow rich. In other words, don’t let it become jawbreaking news when you see someone you know become wealthy. But why? Because of two reasons:
1. You don’t know how he got that wealth, whether legitimately or illegitimately.
2. That person won’t carry over that wealth to the grave.
But after knowing all this, don’t mistake me to think that wealth is bad. No! It is not. In fact, life is way easier when you live financially free because your needs won’t burden your mind any more. But to become wealthy without divine understanding is dangerous.

You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I ask for wisdom to build wealth which will profit your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
