Deal with Heart Corruption If You Want to Prosper

[20] “One whose heart is corrupt does not prosper; one whose tongue is perverse falls into trouble.” – Proverbs 17:20 (NIV)

When prosperity is mentioned, a lot of people turn their minds to money. But from 3 John 2, prosperity is in different kinds. There are spiritual blessings (see Ephesians 1:3), soul prosperity and even physical prosperity, which many people seek for. But all these are engulfed, not bound to be experienced if the heart is corrupt. Why am I saying this?

For example, if God doesn’t give you a new heart because you are not born again, you are not eligible to receive spiritual blessings from Him. Second, since your heart is corrupt (speaking to you assuming you’re an unbeliever), your soul is also in shambles because it isn’t renewed by God’s Word, which affects your physical life. Imagine the chain effects of problems when your heart is corrupt! Hmm.

Dear one, deal with heart corruption if you want to prosper wholly in your life. Otherwise, things won’t go well. Don’t be a lover of money so much that you ignore God and His Word in the name of chasing after wealth. Also, never trust in riches, but in God, who blesses people abundantly for them to enjoy and also be a blessing to others (see 1 Timothy 6:17).

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your grace. Help me to deal with every heart corruption by renewing it with Your Word. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
