The Salvation of the Righteous Comes from the Lord

[39] “The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” – Psalms 37:39 (NIV)

What comes to mind when you hear the word “salvation”? Maybe, to you, it is about the translation from the power of darkness to the kingdom of Jesus (see Colossians 1:13). However, salvation is more than that. The word salvation simply means deliverance. So, prior to Jesus’ introduction of eternal life through salvation, the patriarchs and Biblical authors used to refer to it as deliverance. And I want to talk about one of such verses, where salvation is used. That is Psalm 37:39.

The Psalmist says the salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. Think about this for a moment. God’s Word says that when the righteous person goes into trouble, the Lord Himself, not anybody, will bring them salvation (deliverance) and serve as their stronghold. That is great news, right?

Think about this! If you have been troubled in your life as God’s child, one of the most obvious counsels I can give you today is to have faith in the Lord and stop depending on the man. Man will disappoint you, but God won’t. Trust the God in the man to be faithful in helping you out of your situation.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your salvation in my life. I trust You to fulfil every Word You have said concerning my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
