“Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” — Amos 3:3 NIV
A mutual agreement is an agreement between two people such that opposition from either person cancels the entire union. It’s just like a man in Christ who chooses a wife among the brethren in the same church or fellowship. If the female doesn’t choose to honour his proposal, the relationship can’t work out. And that will further destroy any future plans of marriage and any purposeful life together.
In Isaiah 59:2 (NKJV), the Bible says,
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.”
God knew what separated men from Him was sin. So He decided to love the world. And then, He gave Jesus to come and take away the sin of the whole world (John 1:29). So between God and man, He (God) holds nothing against any human. But it’s left with man to reconcile back to God through the acceptation of Jesus as both Lord and personal Saviour.
So here’s the picture. God wants to have a life of fellowship with you. On His side, He has agreed to change you by giving you eternal life. However, He has placed this eternal life in Jesus (1 John 5:11-13). Therefore, He expects every unbeliever to go to Jesus for salvation. But He has even made this flexible. He has called people to preach Christ to the lost.
You’re not here on this earth by mistake, even if you were born out of wedlock.

Can you understand the extent God has gone to reach the lost? All these things were done and are still done out of His love for us. Don’t give up on the one you’ve chosen to love no matter his/her behaviour.
God wants this mutual agreement to work. But He knows He must work on your salvation and spiritual transformation first. You’re not here on this earth by mistake, even if you were born out of wedlock. God knows His plans for you. But as beautiful as they are, it rests on one choice: accept or reject Jesus? Accept and follow Jesus today.
You’re a blessing.
