ByAnd they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” — Mark 4:41 NKJV
When Jesus was awoken by the disciples to save them from drowning, He rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind died down, and it was completely calm (Mark 4:39). But this scene kept the disciples wondering who Jesus was. They were very shocked that even the wind obeyed Him.
Here’s a mystery. Colossians 1:16 NKJV says,
“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”
The “Him” in the above verse refers to Jesus. All things were created through Him and for Him. That means Jesus has authority over everything. That is why the wind obeyed Him. It knew that its Creator was the One speaking.
Have you worked under a leader before? What do you do when he gives you a command? You obey without hesitation. Right?
Now, if all things were created through Jesus and for Jesus, then Jesus is likened to the CEO of the whole universe. Every authority is under Him. That is why you shouldn’t be afraid when you pray to God about your issues. He can do all things. He can set your life in order. Even Ephesians 3:20 tells us that He’s able to do exceedingly abundantly all that you can ask, think or imagine.
What is your problem? Is it marriage, getting a job, suicidal attempts or death threats? Bring it to Jesus. Have raw faith that’s not dependent on anything or any human. Believe God to fulfil everything concerning your life. He will never fail you!
