“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” — Psalms 46:10 NKJV
Could it be that your mind is so cluttered with worries and cares that you’ve forgotten God is your help? Could it be you’re focusing too much on what you can do with your intellect?
I want to remind you that God is your present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). He knows your pain, worries and woes. He said He’ll never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 28:20). Why are you downcast? Why are you thinking about how you can do life without God’s help?
In today’s devotional anchor text, David reminds us to be still and know God is God. Saying it differently, watch how God takes care of everything about your life without you worrying about it.
Sometimes, we think about many things too much. Complaints don’t solve problems, but God does something about them when we pray in faith. Whether it’s fear of rejection, an uncertain future, getting financial help or missing God’s providential way, He’s there to fix every issue and heal your pain.
There’s more to life than momentary issues. Don’t be afraid. Keep trusting God. He’ll help you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
Oh God, I pray that You’ll help me to keep my mind fixed on You and Your promises. When I get tempted to worry about life, let Your Spirit remind me of Your faithfulness in times past. I declare and affirm that everything will work out for my good. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
