“For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV
2 Corinthians 5:7 is a renowned scripture in Christendom. It speaks about we Christians living by faith and not by sight. But upon a second look, I asked, “what does it mean to live by faith?” Faith is a Word-sourced personal conviction that a believer possesses, capable of moving one to perform actions to actualize that belief. Let me illustrate it.
Suppose you’ve read Matthew 6:33 and have understood that when you first seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, God will meet the basic necessities of life that other people work so hard to get. That’s true. But upon meditation and prayer, when the spiritual light in that scripture enters your spirit, you’ll know instantly that your whole life, you’ll never struggle to get life necessities like food, water, and clothing. That is faith at work in that part of your life.
So from this scenario, living by faith requires that you let light from God’s Word lead your way. And that also means you must consume the Word more often, both in personal studies and listening to anointed ministrations.
What inspires you to do what you do as God’s child? Is it by faith or life circumstances? If it’s the latter, analyze your life and reorient it to synchronise with what God’s Word teaches. In that way, you’ll apply faith in even every little thing about your life. Live in consciousness of this Word.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer
In the name of Jesus, I choose to live by faith. I dedicate time to studying, meditating, and praying through God’s Word. Oh God, lead and guide me in Your everlasting way. Amen!
