Hide Yourself from being Hurt

“Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.” - John 8:58-59 NKJV

All Christians have enemies, classified mainly into three: the world (John 15:19), the flesh (Galatians 5:17), and the devil. All three of them are close, but the flesh is the closest. However, no matter how many enemies we have, we need the wisdom to handle their snares accordingly.

Jesus knew the devil was at work in some Israelites, especially the Pharisees (John 8:44). They wanted to kill Him before His time. But Jesus was aware of how the Father had planned His death and resurrection through the prophecies about Him.

If you know the prophecies about your destiny, guard it in your heart.

When Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM,” they wanted to stone Him. However, Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, moving among the crowd. If Jesus allowed the Israelites to stone Him unto death, how can we be healed through His stripes (1 Peter 2:24)?

Sometimes, God will show you how to handle the snares of your enemies. Other times, you have to hide yourself from being hurt by them. If you know the prophecies about your destiny, guard it in your heart. Don’t joke with your life by involving it in unnecessary things. Don’t go to where God hasn’t sent you. Hide yourself when you see enemies about to strike you. May God protect you and help you fulfil your divine calling.

You’re a blessing.
