“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." - John 14:12 NKJV
As children of God, we’re created in Christ to walk in good works (Ephesians 2:10). And according to Jesus, these works (exploits of faith) are in classifications. Why do I say this?
If there are greater works in the kingdom of God, then there are smaller works too. However, God wants all His children to be notable for greatness. And to simplify it, Jesus gave out the single requirement that any Christian who wants to do great works must meet, which is this: believe in him (Jesus).
When you believe in Jesus, you’ll do the same works He did. But He added that you would do greater works than what He did. Out of misunderstanding, some people think Jesus was promoting comparison. But that wasn’t what He meant. He was saying: when your faith in Him is ever-active, you’ll see manifestations of greater works that surpass what He (Jesus) did in your life.
You don’t need to do every miracle Jesus did in multiple folds to conclude that you’ve done greater works than Jesus. No! You only have to keep believing in Him at all times as you follow Him.
Life is spiritual. Never measure how well you’ve lived based on earthly accomplishments. Your aspiration to do mighty things for God is resident in one thing: believe. Just believe in Jesus.
You’re a blessing.
