Do Not be Afraid to Preach the Truth

[26] “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.” – Matthew 10:26 (NKJV)

Ministry isn’t a joke, especially when God gives you a large congregation to minister to. Do you know why? It’s because many people hate to hear the truth. Talk about sin and repentance, and people will start freaking out. The average preacher sometimes battles with the fear of man because people don’t like hearing the truth.

Jesus was persecuted for the sound doctrine He taught. And He told the apostles that they would be persecuted also. Think about that! It means that it’s much harder to live as a believer in this perverse generation than as an unbeliever because you’ll be odd. But there is an encouragement Jesus gave the apostles, which is also for us today. He told them not to fear any man. And to proclaim what He tells them in secret in broad daylight (see Matthew 10:27).

Dear preacher, do not be afraid to preach the truth, even if people forsake you. God didn’t call you to make a name for yourself or to preach messages that other people like you to preach. He called you to be faithful, which you must fulfil because you’ll be accountable to Him in the end. Remain in your calling, dear one.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me consistently preach the truth no matter the persecution I face on this Earth. I pray that my spiritual fervour to serve you never goes dull. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
