The Lord Needs You

[3] “And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” – Mark 11:3 (NKJV)

Did you know that the Lord needs you for you to fulfil His assignment for your life here on Earth? Oh yes, He needs you. But He doesn’t depend on anybody. Why? Because He knows the heart of man. Even in John 2:24 (NKJV), the Bible says,

“But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,”

Jesus, who was (and still is) fully God, didn’t commit Himself to people because He knew that men’s hearts are already corrupted. That hasn’t changed to date. Today, anybody who doesn’t have Christ in him is not a good person, no matter how many ‘good’ things he may have done for others in times past. It is only God that is good (see Mark 10:18), which means that good people are those who God dwells in them, and that is, the believers in Christ.

One time, Jesus needed a colt to sit on before entering Jerusalem. But there wasn’t some around. So, He sent some of His disciples to a remote area to get one for Him. Because Jesus is all-knowing, He knew where the colt was and how it was tied to a tree. He gave the disciples direct instructions on how to get. But Jesus knew some people may ask the disciples why they were untying the colt. So He said,

“… if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” – see Mark 11:3 (NKJV)

Think about that for a moment. Even though the colt is abandoned, when the Lord sent for it, He knew there would be opposition against it. Today, when God calls people to do something for Him, it’s surprising that unsuspecting people rise against the people the Lord has called. That is why family members can be one of the most challenging enemies in a man of God’s life. Hmm.

No matter who has rejected you, tell yourself that “God needs me.” Don’t talk yourself down. Value yourself as God values you.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for grace and mercy in my life. I know that You value me always. May I live to obey You in all things You tell me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
