[9] “Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, [10] nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.” – Matthew 10:9-10 (NKJV)
One of the fundamental things many people are looking for is security, especially in these three areas – finance, emotional and future. For that sake, many believers God calls to full-time ministry contemplate a lot before taking up the decision, especially when they are coming from corporate workplaces such as banking, technology and more.
Can you imagine Jesus sending Peter and the other disciples on the mission field without anything on them? Jesus said emphatically that the disciples shouldn’t carry any money, bags, tunics, sandals or (walking) staff. He literally instructed them not to take any life necessities for their journey. But why? For this one reason: “… for a worker is worthy of his food.” Can I tell you something?
God has already prepared the sponsors of the divine mandate He has given you and placed them in strategic positions in life for you to meet them. That is why He is your security in ministry. You don’t need to prepare so much to acquire finances, partners and more to launch to do His work entirely (if He has called you). As a matter of fact, you’ll hardly reach a perfect condition before obeying God’s call. Even Abraham had to leave his father’s residence without knowing where God would tell him to stay. Dear friend, declare to yourself, “God is my security in ministry. Therefore, I will not be afraid to obey Him fully.” Honour God’s call today!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your call upon my life. To anyone battling with obeying your call to nations full-time, empower them to honour it today. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
