[3] “I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
That you may know that I, the LORD,
Who call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.” – Isaiah 45:3 (NKJV)
Did you know darkness has treasures? It is confirmed in this devotional’s anchor text, Isaiah 45:3, where God promised Cyrus, His servant, that He’ll bless him. That means the evil places in this world have loads of treasures, usually obtained from illicit gains. So now, have you wondered why some people are rich even though they don’t know God? It is not because God isn’t fair in distributing wealth to everyone on this earth. He knows the devil can also make people rich, but he usually does it using evil means. Not every rich man you see or hear of actually got his wealth from clean ways. If they aren’t believers in Christ, there is a higher possibility that they used dubious means or illegal businesses to get those things.
Even though God knows the world is very economical, He cares about everyone. He knows that if He doesn’t give His faithful servants enough funding, they cannot have maximum impact on the world. But since He is well aware of the evils in this world, He has cut short some of His children’s toil of getting wealth by giving them the treasures of darkness. That even confirms what the scripture says in Proverbs 13:22b (NKJV), which says,
“… the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
Don’t say money is evil. It is the love of money that is evil. Money is just money, but you should be careful about how you get it and use it. If God says He will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, it means He will lavish you with that wealth transfer, regardless of whoever is in possession of it. Why? Because unbelievers are those who are in darkness. So, if an unbeliever funds God’s work that His servant is doing, it may be orchestrated from heaven, although this is not always the case.
Don’t lust after material gains. I speak this primarily to the ministers of the gospel. If God has said He will bless you, it is not your job to figure out how He will do it. Just remain focused as you do His work. And when He finds your heart faithful, He can send even unbelievers to provide massively to make His work well-funded. Trust in Him!
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, I choose to trust You with my life. Help me to live with complete focus on You, and believe that You will provide every step of my way. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
