[4] “When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” [5] But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” [6] And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.” – Luke 5:4-6 (NKJV)
Jesus is so great. He can turn what someone got from years of hard labour into a one-day miracle for another person that will stun onlookers. You see, many people look at life by calculations and patterns. In Africa, many see life as a process from school to job, marriage, possessions, and on and on. And that has subconsciously registered into many young adults’ minds today, so if they don’t see their lives moving in that direction, they feel they are late in life. Question? Who said that doctrine is from God? It is from the world. And although God cares much about our well-being, He doesn’t want each of His children’s life to be predictable. Yes! The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) that,
… “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Just read that at a slower pace this time. For those who love God, no human has or can perceive the great things God has prepared to lavish their lives with. But it takes time for those things to be made manifest, and if you are not patient, you’ll end up rushing into places you don’t like.
Peter complained to Jesus about how they were unable to catch even one fish after an overnight toil. Imagine a husband like Peter going to work and coming back with zero. So painful. Right? But when Jesus showed him what to do, he caught so many fish that the net he was using with the other fishermen in the boat started breaking. One miracle cancelled out a twelve-hour zero work. Dear one, wait on God for divine direction. Just because others work in the secular field and earn money doesn’t mean they are producing God-centred results. Flow in God’s direction and keep confessing His promises concerning your life.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me always seek and obey Your direction for my life concerning everything I do. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
