Choose a Good Name

“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.” — Proverbs 22:1 NKJV

Day in and day out, countless people fill workplaces with the intention of working to earn a living instead of contributing to impact. God gave Adam work in the garden of Eden as part of his being, not as a solution to his daily struggles of meeting life demands.

Solomon, the richest man who ever lived, says in Proverbs 22:1 that to choose a good name is better than having trillions in your bank account. That means a person’s character is more important than his wealth. Why? Because a lack of good character will lead to wealth misuse. There are many people with lots of money who struggle to manage their own homes.

Don’t be deceived by the flashy cars and polished properties people display on air or on social media. It’s much better to have a good name than to deceive others with possessions while lacking good character.

How do you choose a good name? By simply committing to making an impact through your fulfilment of divine purpose. When you do what God has called you to do, you’ll not pay people to tell lies about you in public. They’ll know your good deeds, recommend you to others, and glorify God through your way of living.

You’re a blessing.
