[8] “Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.” – Proverbs 28:8 (NIV)
Wait a minute. Read that scripture above again. How do you feel about that?
You see, many people naturally want to be wealthy. So they employ all kinds of means to get money. That is why a large populace of today’s youth are engaged in sports betting and ponzi schemes. They just don’t want to obey God’s principles of getting money in the right way.
God, through the preacher Solomon, says that if you take interest or profit from the poor in order to amass wealth unto yourself, you’re just saving it for the one who will be kind to the same people you took the money from. It might look like a joke, but God’s Word never fails. You may be rich now after you’ve used dubious means to extort money from poor people in society – whether as a businessman or a fake minister. But God is watching you. He will judge whatever you’re doing that is against His Word.
On the other hand, you who are kind, continue blessing the poor’s lives with your generous deeds. It might be difficult to continue showing kindness to people you’ve made efforts to help them. But fret not. The Lord is your strength. He will supply your needs to continue becoming a blessing in your generation.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your love. Help me to show kindness to the poor in my life. Give me a compassionate heart that knows how to genuinely help others. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
