[30] “I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” – John 14:30 (NKJV)
In this life, it is said that people have strengths and weaknesses. And that is true. But just because people, especially believers in Christ, have weaknesses doesn’t mean they should be related to sin. Instead, it is about an inability to do something because you’re just not built for it.
As believers, God wants us to live so pure and holy that we have nothing to do with sin, even in our weakest selves. There were several times Jesus felt so weak and anguished in His Spirit that He wasn’t as strong as He sometimes was when ministering to the poor. Angels had to help Him sometimes to keep going. But in the midst of all the temptations in His life, He never sinned. He was so pure that He boldly said in John 14:30 that the devil has nothing in Him. Can you say that about yourself? Are you completely guiltless before God when He comes today to assess you?
Please be honest with yourself. Dear Minister, if you’re suffering from a secret sin, know that the devil has something in you that is geared towards destroying you when you keep practising it without repentance. Why do I say that? Because it is written in Galatians 6:8 (NKJV) that,
[8] “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
Galatians 6:8 (NKJV)
If you keep feeding on your lust, it will destroy you. But if you keep sowing to know God more intimately, He will fill every part of your life with His presence, so much so that you’ll not be conscious of your weaknesses. Always remember that it is only God who can satisfy the hunger in your soul to get inner fulfilment. Protect your purity, both in private and public, for the sake of not grieving the Holy Spirit in you and not how people are viewing you from externalities.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your presence in my life. Help me to live purely before You, both in private and public, for the glorification of Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
