Death, according to the Bible, does not only mean physical death. In Genesis 2:17, when God commanded Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil lest he would die, they both didn’t die in that instance. In fact, they lived quite long before they died. That draws to our understanding that death is not just an event but rather a judgment on anyone who chooses not to live according to the ways of God. That judgement will manifest in the form of pervasive hardship in a person’s life. It’s just like how it takes time for the leaves on a cut tree branch takes time to either.
For an unbeliever or anyone who is not born again, it is hard to live according to the ways of God, and that automatically leads them to a death (perishing) road. However, Jesus said in John 8:51 that “… whoever obeys my Word will never see death.” That means that even when we are in Christ and do not obey God’s Word, we are prone to face consistent hardship in life, and unfortunately, many believers are living like this. They are in Christ but disregard the authority of His Word over their lives. As followers of Christ, we must rely solely on His Word always. We ought to treasure it and carve it on our hearts. For that is life itself.
Experiencing the supernatural in the natural
God wants to see us thrive supernaturally, even in the natural. But that can’t happen if we don’t depend on Him. He wants us to let it get settled in our consciousness that He cares deeply for us (see 1 Peter 5:7-8).
Who do you rely on in whatever you do? Is it God or your own wisdom? Let me tell you something. In this changing world, only God can help you to thrive. If what you’re doing or intend to build is so great that your current provision can’t handle it, that is a good place in life to trust God for divine support. Never give up on God. Never!
Know no struggle like the worldly people do
The people in the world (unbelievers) usually complain of bad economies and general struggles in life. As soon as they get money, an issue pops up, eventually draining their hard-earned money. Well, I’m not saying that this doesn’t happen in believers’ lives. It does, but because we have the advantage of prayer, many of them get dealt with by God as we pray without our struggle.
Dear Christian, it is always best to pray to God for Him to show you what to do before you move on to do it. Many people have ended up in struggle because they didn’t allow God to lead them in the things they are doing. Don’t be like that. It pays to wait on God, hear His Word and obey it. That is how to experience the life of God in your life tangibly.
Study and apply what you learn in the scriptures
In Psalm 119:130 (KJV), the Bible says,
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
So God’s Word is a leadership manual. When you study it and apply what you learn, God’s light will shine on your path. Always have time for God’s Word.
