Always be Gentle Towards Everyone

[2] “to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.” – Titus 3:2 (NIV)

Reminders are good. I personally use them a lot, especially when it comes to tasks I may forget to do. For years, they have helped me to consistently work in an orderly way and stay organised as a servant of God. But think of those early church days when no phones or apps existed. What did they use to remind themselves about things they were not supposed to forget? Monuments were part. However, consistent teaching was the most used. Remember that God told the Israelites to impress His teachings on their children (see Deuteronomy 4:9). Even though monuments (statues) are still used to portray history, teaching has improved.

Paul told Titus to remind the believers of several things, such as being peaceable, considerate and subject to rulers and authorities. However, one of the things he said is that believers should always be gentle towards everyone. You may ask, why gentility?

Did you know that gentility is a cherished virtue in the world today? Ask shopkeepers, and they’ll tell you how essential that is to keeping customers. As a believer, your gentle way of life is a solid way to portray the gospel even to unbelieving people. Treat people well, and you will win many souls unto the Lord.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me always be gentle towards everyone I meet or encounter in my life path, for many to be won over for the Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
