[22] “to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” — 1 Corinthians 9:22 (NKJV)
Paul was such an experienced servant of God. He travelled to several cities to share the gospel, started churches and raised several ministers in the Lord. But he didn’t deny the fact that in some places, he had to put on diverse lifestyle clothes for the purpose of saving some of the lost.
Today, things are a lot different. Many ministers in Africa aren’t in full-time ministry yet. So they work in secular workplaces, where many people, some even claiming to be in church, do evil things and still think there’s nothing wrong with it. I quite remember how one minister told me how some people he worked with played worldly music as if there was nothing wrong with it to his faith. Mercy!
It’s sad to say that some of these ministers take on clothes of compromise instead of being conscious of witnessing Jesus to the lost they’ve been encountering. Where do you stand? Are you willing to adjust your lifestyle to save some unbelievers for the Lord or to live a filthy lifestyle like theirs? This question can only be answered sincerely in your heart.
Never lose consciousness of who you are in Christ. Live to please God no matter what man says. And know that your lifestyle is someone’s Bible. You can mingle with the worldly people you encounter wherever you go. However, never allow them to compromise on your faith.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to stay true to you no matter how hard it is in this evil world. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
