As humans, we all need help one way or the other. No man survives on his own because that is how God created the world to be. Man requires oxygen to live, and plants need carbon dioxide to survive. Given this, we cannot survive without plants, and plants cannot survive without us humans. That is why some men are teachers, others are doctors, some are farmers, and others are engineers.
I have seen a lot of people with dreams not able to achieve them because they did not get the help they needed in order to make those dreams and the purpose God gave them come to pass. I was not shocked when Dr Myles Munroe of blessed memory said the richest place on this earth is the cemetery. It pains a lot when you do not get the help you need to achieve your purpose. That is why Galatians 6:2 tells us to carry each other’s burden. It says,
“[2] Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Help a friend if it is in your means
Selfishness is the root cause of why many people suffer. Jesus knew this. So, to get rid of it, He gave out new instructions in Matthew 5:42 on helping people, which says,
[42] “Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.”
I have seen many people whose lives have been shattered because they did not get people to help them. It is not that they lived a bad life. No! They did not get a helping hand that would propel them up in their purpose fulfilment. That is why Jesus told us to give if it is in our means.
Not everyone is fortunate to have everything one needs. That is why Jesus was telling us that if someone needs something and you have what it takes to help him, do it. Moreover, the word of God tells us in Proverbs 3:27 not to withhold good from those who deserve it.
Even if you think you don’t like the person who has come to ask for help from you, obey the scriptures and assist the person.
Depend on grace for supplication
People do not often give up because they fear they will not have enough for themselves. But as believers, that is not our focus: to think so much of ourselves that we do not have abundant
possessions to bless other lives. There is a saying that the rich will always be rich. That is because we think giving is for the rich. They also keep giving, and God keeps blessing
them too. Let us take a look at the life of Jesus.
[38] “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”
John 6:38 NKJV
He knew no sin. But He knew dying on the cross would set us free. Indeed, that sacrifice was very precious, and it is why today, I have been saved. 1 Timothy 6:17 NKJV also says,
[17] “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.”
It is sad if you have all the riches in the world but do not have God. Dear friends, let us help each other if it is within our means, and our lives will never be the same.
Let us help each other fulfil the purpose that God has given every one of us by providing the assistance anyone wants when it is in our means. Trust in the Lord, do not depend on the earthly things you have, and your life will be of the quality God wants them to be.
