[15] “Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man.” – Ecclesiastes 9:15 (NKJV)
There are many things that contribute to a person becoming a voice in this generation. Popularity is part; wealth is part; wisdom is, and more. If you have wisdom, and you’re not wealthy or popular, you cannot impact many people with that wisdom you have. That is why when God wants you to bless generations, He doesn’t only give you wisdom. He also gives you visibility.
Solomon shared a sad story in Ecclesiastes 9 that left me very disturbed when I connected it to what’s happening in this generation. People were trying to attack a city. But in that city dwelt a wise but poor man who had the solution to the impending disaster. However, nobody remembered him. So, guess what happened? The city was ambushed. He was wise, yet without visibility. That clearly means that you don’t only need wisdom for influence. You also need visibility and wealth.
Don’t be like such a man. Don’t just pursue wisdom. Pray also for God to give you visibility in your area of influence – be it professional-wise or ministry-wise. It’ll help you reach more people you’ll never imagine. But be careful. A large social media following isn’t the same as a large influence. Social media can make you popular but the content you put there makes you influential.
Bless people with the wisdom God has given you, and see every count on the followers’ number as a soul to be ministered to, not to make you pride yourself as a popular person.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of life in me. I pray that aside from blessing me with wisdom, increase my visibility so Your people will be impacted more for the sake of Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
