You Are Justified by Jesus’ Blood

[9] “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!” – Romans 5:9 (NIV)

Justification is a legal term, meaning to be acquitted of charges against you in a court of law. And guess what? Only one person has the authority to do that in court. That is, the judge. He’s the one who’ll listen to what the prosecutor and the defendant will say before making the right judgment. If the one who’s being accused is justified, he is declared “right.” Hence, all charges are supposed to be dropped against the person.

In our case, God knew that all had sinned and fallen short of His glory (see Romans 3:23). So, if God wanted to punish humanity by making atonement for their sins, then all deserve to be in hell. But God didn’t do that. He chose to place all of humanity’s sin on Jesus so He would atone for it and be a propitiation for our sins. Today, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, you are justified by His blood. That’s it. So, any wrath from God to you would be shielded by Jesus because of His atonement for you. That is why you don’t need to give space to the devil to manipulate you. In fact, you have authority over him.

If you have fallen into sin, get back on your feet and remind yourself that that is not the God-kind of life He wants you to live. He wants you to manifest eternal life as you work to be all that He created you to be. It is well with you.
