[5] “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (NIV)
Have you ever seen an enormous tree with many branches before? If not, at least there are trees in your neighbourhood. Right? If you observe them, you’ll realise that no tree branch can survive without being connected to the main tree stem. When a branch is cut from a tree, its leaves remain green for some time. Over time, those leaves wither off because they weren’t receiving nutrients from the tree they got connected to. Right? That is how our lives are as believers in Christ.
You are a branch in the true vine, Jesus Christ our Lord. Your consistent daily fellowship with Him is crucial if you want to live a thriving (evergreen) life. Unfortunately, spiritual growth through divine fellowship has not been set to automation in Christ. So, in essence, your labour of connecting with God is your work. God won’t descend to pray for you. It would help if you did it.
Many believers have drifted from their divine mandate because they live dry due to a lack of holy fellowship with their Maker. Friend, God saved you for your profiting. But to get the maximum profit embedded in your salvation, you must draw strength from the Lord daily. Remember this.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your love. Help us to connect with You each day so we won’t lack spiritual nourishment to do what You called us to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
