We Have Redemption in Christ Through His Blood

[7] “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” – Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

Redemption is such a powerful term in the Bible that many have not taken much time to study extensively. Have you ever wondered what it means when the Bible says we have redemption in Christ through His blood? If not, I guess today’s devotional is for you.

Redemption, from the Strong’s concordance, means a release effected by payment of ransom. That means that someone needs to be at fault for another person to pay it off before the one at fault can be free. That was our case in the Lord.

We had sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (see Romans 3:23). But God didn’t leave us in that state. No! His love for us transcended beyond our offence against Him. So, what did He do? He made Jesus come to die and take away the sin of the world (see John 1:29, Romans 3:24). Today, because of the redeeming power of Christ’s blood, you are set free from sin as God’s child.

Because of your redeemed position in the Lord, nobody, including the devil, has the right to accuse you of what you used to do. Why? Because those sins have been paid for. What do you do if someone you used to owe money accuses you of owing money? You remind him that the money has already been paid. Right? Walk in this consciousness, and you’ll defeat the enemy anytime he throws you a photograph of your past.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for redeeming me through Jesus Christ’s blood. Help me, Lord, to walk in this consciousness so that I will always enjoy my victory in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
