[11] “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.” – Proverbs 12:11 (NIV)
Fantasies? What comes to mind when you hear such a word? That word means the activity of imagining impossible or improbable things. Meaning chasing fantasies is one of the most dangerous activities a person can ever do. It’s just like chasing the wind. You will get nowhere with it since the wind blows whichever way it wants.
The Bible says in Proverbs 12:11 that those who work (till) their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. Guess what that means? There is so much you can do with the little you have today. But if you don’t see its potential and you abandon God’s blessing to chase after improbable things, you are not acting in wisdom.
Every little thing you have, maybe a job, some money or even a spiritual gift, has the capacity to help you get an abundance of provision. But such a benefit doesn’t come automatically. It requires that you place what you have to work. Very simple. Harness your spiritual gift, make the best use of what God has given you and see Him multiply your seed.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to make good use of what you have given me. Guard me from all sorts of distractions. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
