[23] “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” – 1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)
How does it feel to buy perishable goods from the market only to forget to use them until they start rotting? Very disgusting. Right? Mothers can relate to this very well because most of them are in charge of the kitchen at home. But today, there is good news to behold from scripture. That is, the Word of God is imperishable. And on top of that, that is what God used to give birth to you in the Spirit realm.
You have been born again with the imperishable seed of God’s Word. So, guess what? Your life is not subject to corruption once you are in Christ. Get this understanding firmly in your spirit that no matter what happens to you in life, God is up to making your life get better and better, not worse. You see, many people don’t experience this because they try to do better in life without God. So, after encountering various setbacks, they develop wrong doctrines in their lives and start teaching others.
Remember that God didn’t tell us to live by men’s doctrines. In fact, scripture warns that we should not let anybody beguile us (see Colossians 2:18). An imperishable seed doesn’t get rotten by weather conditions; it is stable. Therefore, be strong in your mind to live by the dictates of the teachings of the Word, especially in a generation where wrong information is saturated over the media and internet. May the Lord strengthen you.
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for birthing me by the imperishable Word of life. I pray that my life moves on from glory to glory as I walk in your leadings. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
