Sowing Sparingly Doesn’t Yield Many Results

[6] “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NKJV)

Sowing and reaping are two significant things happening in almost every part of the world right now. Since God established this principle in Genesis 8:22, it has been in effect to date, and several people who understand how it works well have built successful businesses and made millions with it. For example, people have built ranches and farmlands with double-figure acres of land, all because they know that if they plant in good soil, they’ll reap a bumper harvest. Of a truth, whatever you sow, you are going to reap. But there is more to just that saying.

If I am a farmer and I’ll reap what I sow, I don’t expect to reap the exact amount I sowed. Otherwise, there’s no profit for what I did, which may be a wasteful use of time. I should expect to reap more of what I sowed. Right? That is what Paul delved deeper into in 2 Corinthians 9:6. I call it a look into the quantity of your harvest based on what you sowed.

In 2 Corinthians 9:6, the Bible says clearly that “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” Both words “sparingly” and “bountifully” refer to quantity. Sparingly means in a restricted or infrequent manner. It also means in small quantities. Whereas, bountifully means in a plentiful or ample manner. So, in essence, if you sow in a plentiful way, you’ll reap large quantities of harvest. But if you sow in small quantities, you’ll still reap, but not that much.

Therefore, sowing sparingly doesn’t yield many results, and since everyone desires to make it big time, it is not advisable to sow your seeds sparingly. This principle applies to farming, financial giving (especially to the ministry as a believer), and other areas of life, like work input. Of course, you cannot work shabbily and expect to be highly productive. No! Things don’t work that way. So, dear one, always consider sowing in large amounts. Even if you don’t have it, gradually grow to that level. It will improve your life.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for helping me. Give me more wisdom to use your principle of sowing and reaping well. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
