“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” - Genesis 8:22 NIV
One principle of life that works no matter which person implements it is the principle of sowing and reaping. As long as this earth exists, seedtime and harvest (not harvest time) will never cease.
In Galatians 6:7 (NIV), the Word says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” What you sow is what you’ll reap in multiple folds. Then in verse 8 of the same Galatians 6, Paul shows us two spiritual locations people sow with or without intentionality: flesh and Spirit.
The Bible says, “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” — Galatians 6:8 NIV
How do you sow in the flesh? By living in subjection to the dictates of your bodily desires (I mean the ones which are hostile to the purposes of God). The Word says anybody who sows to please the flesh will reap destruction. Translated word “destruction” is another word for “corruption.”
As believers, we’re born again with the incorruptible seed of the Word (1 Peter 1:23). But when it comes to relevance in the kingdom of God, corruption can occur to the person who’s already born again. That is, such a person will remain saved but will live hostile to the purposes of God as far as this earth is concerned. That shall not be your story in the name of Jesus.
If God doesn’t want us to sow in the flesh, then definitely, He wants us to sow in the Spirit. However, what does it mean to do that?
Sowing in the Spirit means living with Christ-centered thoughts. That requires you to live spirit-minded and spirit-filled as you also surround your life with faithful brethren. It’s God’s will for every Christian to live like this because to be spirit-minded is (eternal) life and peace (Romans 8:6).
Friend, pay attention to the kind of voices you listen to and how you use your time. Use the numerous hours consuming wrong content offline or online to be in fellowship with God. People may tell you that you’re disassociative. But remember that God won’t put you to shame once you’re committed to knowing Him intimately. Give no space to the devil. Live unto God.
You’re a blessing.
