[9] “Rejoice, O young man, in your youth,
And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth;
Walk in the ways of your heart
And in the sight of your eyes;
But know that for all these
God will bring you into judgment.” – Ecclesiastes 11:9 (NKJV)
One of the most exciting things about being a youth is that you can do so much in those years. Some people use those times to engage in secular entertainment, adversely affecting them later in life. Others use those years to know God more intimately, which pays off later in life. Choices are more powerful than what statistics say. So, to you, as a youth reading this, what are you doing with your life?
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:9 that as a young person, rejoice in your youth. Let your heart cheer you in those days. Follow what your heart directs you to do, and don’t forget to walk in the sight of your eyes. But at the end of everything, remember that God will bring you into judgment.
So, as a parent, the moment your child hits the youthful stage, reduce your control over his life. Let him do what he wants. Only offer guidance, make sure they keep in step with God and tell them that how they handle their lives today will affect their future. It’s that simple.
Your highest energies may be in your youthful stages. So, utilise it well unto the glory of God. But don’t forget that whatever you do with your life today has an impact on your future and the life in eternity.
You are a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving strength to every person in his youth. Direct me in Your path, oh Jesus. Amen!
