[8] “For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 1:8 (NKJV)
In yesterday’s devotional, I mentioned seven things Peter mentions in 2 Peter 1:5-7 that are essential to manifest in a believer’s life to experience productivity. And in today’s devotional, the Apostle hammers more on this truth. Let’s look at it.
According to 2 Peter 1:8, if, as a believer, you possess and abound in virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love, you’ll not be barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of Christ. Simply put, you can’t possess these qualities and remain an ordinary Christian. It’s just impossible.
Today, many believers are distracted from pursuing to know God better each day because they are busy chasing after things in the world. Many don’t even do personal Bible study any more. But they expect God to lift them in their lives. Friend, things don’t work like that. Remaining productive in your divine knowledge of Christ is work.
God wants you to be productive as you know Him. He wants your life to preach Him to you as long as generations are unborn. But it won’t happen by automation. You must rise to know and live out your divine purpose. Be empowered!
You’re a blessing.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your blessedness in my life. I pray, in the name of Jesus, help me to become productive every day as I seek to know You better, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
