Provide Solution to the Suffering

[35] When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said, “This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late. [36] Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.” [37] But He answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?” – Mark 6:35-37 (NKJV)

What do you do when you hear a story of someone suffering? Do you allow the person to continue his suffering or provide a solution for the person? Some people choose to do the former, while others prefer the latter. Now, why am I making this comparison?

After ministering to thousands of people, Jesus had to disperse the crowd to go to their various destinations. But it was running late in the evening, so they were getting hungry. The disciples told Jesus to send them away to get their own food. But Jesus said, “You give them something to eat.” Think about that. Twelve people opted to dismiss the crowd, but only one person commanded that food be provided to these hungry people.

Sometimes, when God inspires you to help others, you may not have all the resources you need to do that, both financial and human resource-wise. However, once that desire is there, God doesn’t care about multiplying the little you have for it to become plenty for people to enjoy. Several people would have expanded their economic lives if they had been bent on creating jobs, businesses, corporations, and even ministries to help lives instead of being selfish about securing a job and doing just that. Don’t let that be said of you. Provide solution to the suffering in society.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to become more selfless in helping people with what You have blessed me with. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
