God’s Word Knows How to Grow in a Person’s Life

[26] And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, [27] and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how” – Mark 4:26-27 (NKJV)

Jesus used several parables to explain to many people what the kingdom of God looks like. One of them is found in Mark 4:26-27, where He said that “the kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.” Think about this.

The word “seed” Jesus used referred to the Word of God. So, Jesus was saying that when it comes to how God’s kingdom operates, there is a someway-somehow means for which God’s Word finds fruition in the one who receives it. That way is not the job of any preacher to figure it out because it is mysterious. That is why I tell you that if you are a preacher reading this, care less about what your congregants do with the Word you preach to them because it is not your job. Only be concerned with feeding God’s flock with quality Word.

Dear child of God, I want you to know that God’s Word knows how to grow in your life. You cannot figure it out, but you must pay a more earnest heed to it (see Hebrews 2:1), lest it slips. Don’t be a passive listener of God’s Word in His house but an active partaker of it.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your Word in my life. Help me nurture God’s Word in my spirit so that it can grow. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
