Open Reward

“But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” - Matthew 6:3‭-‬4 NKJV

When people get rewarded, others get excited. However, very few people inquire about what it took to get to that height in that person’s life. Exploit is expensive. It costs to make an indelible impact on people’s lives. And one thing we believers must know is that there is no open reward without secret work done behind the scenes. It’s just like running a mobile app without any backend programming.

Exploit is expensive. It costs to make an indelible impact on people’s lives.

In the first four verses of Matthew 6, Jesus teaches about giving. He says that when a charitable deed is done for people, the whole public shouldn’t know about it. Why?—Because if that happens, glory will be given to the giver instead of the God who gave the giver gifts to give unto others. Jesus adds that if God alone knows about your charitable deed, He’ll give you an open reward.

There are so many exploits you can do for the kingdom of God behind the scenes. You don’t need the whole world to populate your name for doing something that God inspired you to do. The Hebrew meaning of “glory” is weight. And this weight can’t be borne by any human. Don’t seek men’s glory for doing kingdom tasks, even in love. Channel them to God, and don’t reach a point where God cannot correct you.

You’re a blessing.
