[1] “A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.” – Proverbs 11:1 (KJV)
One of the most prevalent struggles many people face in this generation is to find balance in life. Hardly will a person say, “At last, I have rest in every area of my life.” Why? Because of false balance. He may be doing well in his career, but may face stunted spiritual growth in his walk with God, financial challenges, and vision stability challenges, only to mention a few. But the question is, did God call us to live unbalanced lives? No!
According to Provers 11:1, the Bible tells us that a false balance is abomination to the Lord. Following that, it is written that “… but a just weight is His delight.” Think about that for a moment. The scripture implies that it isn’t God’s will to see some areas of your life not doing well, no matter the circumstance. In other words, God doesn’t want some areas of your life to do better than others. He wants everywhere to flow according to His pattern, which many find it hard to maintain such a lifestyle because of lack of dependence on God.
Only God can give you balance in life. Only He can ensure that your life knows no lack and that you are completely at rest and experiencing growth in every area of it. So, if you want to live in God’s delight, pursue a deeper intimacy with Him to know Him better and ask for wisdom to manage your life and anything He has given you well. You’ll be surprised how He’ll start improving your life in ways unimaginable.
You’re a blessing.
