No Believer Should Seek His Own Good But the Good of Others

[24] “No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” – 1 Corinthians 10:24 (NIV)

If you read today’s scripture so fast, can you humbly reread it? How does it feel when you are conscious of the truth that life is more about others than you? It’s very demanding. Right? Married people can attest to this. You may not know how selfish you are until you get married. Raising children and handling teams can teach you to be selfless so much that you’ll think of yourself less.

Some people think leadership is about all the glamour and the privileges that come with it. However, the reality is that leadership is more about responsibility, not really privileges. As a believer, you are a leader of your generation. So, the more you die to self, the more others will profit from you.

God is raising you not just because of you but also for the others connected to you. Don’t be selfish, thinking life is all about you and what you desire to get for yourself and probably your small family. No! Think big.

You are a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, help me to think less of myself and more of You and the people You have entrusted in my care to take care of. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
